Approach to Quality

TCDN chooses to be involved in initiatives that plan for continuous quality improvement. By identifying and analyzing our strengths and areas to improve upon, we can plan improvements that provide the best possible services to the children and families that we serve.

TCDN currently is involved in both National Afterschool Association (NAA) Accreditation for school-age programs, and the PA Keystone STARS system of quality improvement. Keystone STARS guides early learning and school-age programs toward achieving and maintaining best practices in early care and education.

Through these initiatives our goal is to use feedback and assessments from staff, families and research-based national and state standards of quality to make ongoing improvements.

Currently, two out-of-school time programs, the Swarthmore After School Club and the Wallingford After School Club are NAA Accredited, and all program sites are involved in Keystone STARS. Work is ongoing to move all sites to Keystone STAR level 3 (out of 4) for the 2011-2012 school year.
